Commence with tea/coffee and (optional) bring-your-own lunch.

The theme for 2026 is “Living Water: Biodiversity as God’s blessing.” Light refreshments following the service

- 18th October 2026 One World Week Service from 4.00pm to 5.00pm at Waddington Street URC
Everyone Welcome. Please join us to celebrate our world-wide unity as humanity! Stay for light refreshments after the service.
The 2026 theme (for Global Education Week) is: “From critical thinking to collective action.”
WHY WE CELEBRATE CREATION TIME AND ONE WORLD WEEK
Just in time, we have understood that we are answerable to God for taking care of this wonderful but fragile planet, with its amazingly diverse web of living creatures, so dependent on water. It is tragic that we have only begun to appreciate what a treasure we have, and to realise the threats that Earth and we face, at the eleventh hour after so much damage has been done. The good news is that there is still time, although barely time, to avoid catastrophe. Thank God that, globe-wide, individuals, campaign groups, companies, churches, even governments, are changing direction and taking action: turning to renewable energy, reducing green-house emissions, conserving the soil, restoring forests and wet-lands, protecting the living oceans and reducing pollution.
What is needed to see this through is faith-led spiritual conversion to a much simpler life-style, which is why the Season of Creation and One World Week are as significant for prayer and celebration as are Christmas and Easter. Please join us at some or all of the Season of Creation and One World Week events.
